Ekphrasis

Publication rules and guidelines

The articles published in Ekphrasis are using English and other European languages in order to maintain multiculturalism and interdisciplinarity as described in the Background. We encourage authors to use English as contemporary lingua franca of research while considering multi-lingual expression an European trait. All articles must have exclusively English-language abstracts, key words and affiliation of the author. No fee for the publication of articles in the journal is required. The authors should submit the articles in electronic format to the issue coordinators and to the senior editor at the following e-mail address: ekphrasis.teatrutv@ubbcluj.ro. By sending the material, it is understood that it contains original information that has never been published before and that the material has not been submitted for publication elsewhere.

Publication process
After the submission of the abstract the executive editor will provide authors constructive reviews, according to the deliberations of the Editorial Board (se About Us section). After accepting the subject, specific directions (if necessary) will be provided for revising a manuscript. The final decision to either accept or reject a manuscript will follow after the reviewing process by the Editorial and Advisory Board. See more in the Ethics and Publication Guidelines section below.

Ekphrasis is published following the bi-annual schedule: June and December of each academic year.

No fees or any kind of monetary charges are required for publishing with Ekphrasis. Please do not accept any such messages, and report any emails containing such information immediatly to the editors.
The editors of the journal support freedom of academic expression, but also strive to keep integrity in the publishing of research. All inacurracies will be corrected promptly and, if needed, the articles will be withdrawn.

Peer review process
Ekphrasis applies a double-blind peer review system. Authors are invited to submit their work through direct contact and through general submissions calls on various platforms. Once authors submit their papers they implicitly accept the reviewing process and affirm their agreement to be evaluated. Also, when so mentioned, the references and bibliographic corrections of reviewers must be followed properly.

All the submitted proposals are reviewed by the editors of the journal, and they determine to accept or reject the submission. If there are disagreements referring to accepting a proposal, the Senior editor make the final decision regarding publication. Revisions and resubmissions are a policy of this journal. The reviewers follow the guidelines for established by the Editorial Board. Reviewing is based on confidentiality, objectivity and academic collegiality.

Authors' responsibilities

All authors must make sure that the material they submit is creatively new and innovative, that corrections will be made and retractions accepted when requested. Please provide all references and financial interests when submitting your papers. Ekphrasis does not accept the duplication of publised materials so, unless articles are re-written in large proportion we discourage submission of already published works.
Authors can appeal if any conflicts appear and the Senior editor will apoint another editorial committee to analyze the case. This will be the final decission and no further appeals are possible.
